What is nature-based art?

Nature-based art uses materials found in nature such as leaves, flowers, barks, stones, feathers, clay, wood and soil. Natural forms, patterns and textures can also be our source of inspiration. It is most often sustainable and eco-friendly, accessible and low-cost when we work with this approach to art making.

Lou specialises in natural dyes and inks, plant prints, wild-weaving, fibre & land-art. City & Guilds and Forest School training inform her practice in facilitating art in an outdoor setting in a process-led style of learning. This gets us out into nature improving our health and wellbeing, out of our busy heads and into our hearts and hands, allowing curiosity to lead the way in creativity.
